Deschamps-Braly

Location: San Francisco, California, USA
Procedures: FFS

Volume: ~100–150 FFS per year

Overview

Dr. Jordan Deschamps-Braly is widely considered one of the premier FFS surgeons in the United States. He trained under Dr. Douglas Ousterhout — the surgeon who essentially founded modern FFS in the 1980s — and took over Ousterhout's San Francisco practice. His craniofacial fellowship training (at UCSF) distinguishes him from plastic surgeons who approach FFS without craniofacial specialization.

He runs the Deschamps-Braly Clinic in San Francisco. His practice is FFS-exclusive; he does not perform SRS or breast augmentation. The focus and depth of specialization is reflected in consistently strong patient outcomes, though the price and wait time are among the highest of any FFS surgeon globally.

Wait Times

Among the longest of any FFS surgeon: 12–24+ months from booking to surgery date.

Patient Reviews

The overwhelming majority of documented patient outcomes are positive. Patients consistently highlight:

  • Natural-looking results — most frequently praised attribute
  • Attention to skeletal structure and proportional outcomes
  • Strong forehead work and rhinoplasty

Representative quotes:

  • irrelevant_2 (2024): "3 years post-FFS with Dr. Deschamps-Braly. I healed up perfectly and best decision of my life"
  • postpartum-blues (2022): multiple posts documenting excellent healing progress
  • LuthienByNight (2022): "FFS with Dr. Deschamps-Braly, 3 year post-op before/after"
  • helloworld1989 (2020): "FFS can really be a miracle. It absolutely changed my life"

Negative cases:

  • feckallyall (2020) — claimed to be the first FtM facial masculinization case at DB; alleged surgical negligence; the account later described suicidal ideation; disputed by the surgeon
  • bralysteinsmonster (2019) — "Dr. Deschamps-braly nearly killed me"
  • burgundykenya (2019) — "FFS Butcher!" post

These negative cases are contested and represent a small fraction relative to the volume of positive reports.

Comparison

DB is most frequently compared to Dr. Keojampa and Dr. Harrison Lee (both Beverly Hills craniofacial surgeons):

  • DB: highest cost, longest wait, most consistently natural results
  • Keojampa: similar craniofacial training, somewhat more accessible, growing reputation
  • Harrison Lee: similar scope, more variable reputation
