# Community & commercial lab profiles — deep-dive index

**Last updated:** 2026-04-23
**Scope:** eleven labs relevant to the gray-market HRT and peptide testing ecosystem, plus two public-benefit drug-checking comparators. One profile per file; all structured to the same schema (Status / Location / Principals / URL / Instruments table / Assays / Pricing / Submission / Sample / Publication / Reputation / Structured claims / Unknowns / Sources).

This index is the one-paragraph-per-lab synthesis. For instrumentation tables, pricing confidence tiers, and reputation detail, follow the linked files. Round-1 partner summary at [`../../01-existing-services/partner-labs.md`](../../01-existing-services/partner-labs.md) covers the same labs less deeply; use that for quick-reference and this directory for disciplined per-lab detail.

## Gray-market commercial labs

### [Janoshik Analytical](./janoshik.md) — Prague, CZ

The Schelling point of gray-market analytical testing worldwide. **Peter Magic (CEO/Owner — pseudonym), Edita Prokešová (CSO), Jakub Dobrík (Managing Director / CFO)** per janoshik.com/about-us/. **IČO 17668727**, registered 2022-10-25. The community-circulating "Jan Orčík" name behind the Peter Magic pseudonym was searched in round 3 and **did NOT corroborate** — treat as unverified rumour, not fact. Pay-per-test storefront with crypto intake, worldwide shipping, QR-verifiable COAs, 1–8 day turnaround. Steroid oil screen **$120 (C1)**, GLP-1 peptide **$300 (C1)**, standalone endotoxin **$180 (C1)** — but endotoxin explicitly **excludes oils, raw powders, tablets, and capsules**, which is every HRT form factor. SARM $170 and Package A $828 are **C3** (secondary-review sourced, not live on landing pages). Not ISO 17025 accredited. The ~30 staff / ~300 tests-per-day figure is from Peptide Protocol Wiki's review, not Janoshik's own disclosure — attribute correctly. Known controversies: 2026 data breach, drostanolone-related mis-ID, an active COA-forgery problem the verify tool is designed to mitigate.

### [MZ Biolabs](./mz-biolabs.md) — Tucson, AZ

The only Finnrick partner that publicly lists brand-level instrumentation. Definitive source: **`mzbiolabs.com/mzbiolabs/our-techniques/`** (NOT the home page — critique M12). Inventory: **Waters Acquity UPLC + 3× Bruker Compact QTOF** (20,000 resolution) for routine work, **Thermo LTQ Velos Pro + Waters nanoAcquity** (5 pg/mL sensitivity, GLP-operated) for trace / GLP. Columns C8 / C18 / HILIC / Amide; ESI and APCI. Finnrick's orthogonal-confirm partner; 178 of 6,813 Finnrick tests (2.6%) as of 2026-04-22. DEA RP0584676. **Founder / Owner: Ken Pendarvis** (chemical engineer / analytical chemistry / proteomics; C2 from `mzbiolabs.com/mzbiolabs/about-us/` and Crunchbase). **Co-founder: Nina Ossanna** (prior US Patent Examiner, Hopkins / U. Arizona tech-transfer director; C3 — Crunchbase only, not on the live About page). Current staff: Pendarvis, **Jaishree Mali, PhD**, **Jamie Young**, **Armida Valencia**. Founded 2019 per Crunchbase. Retail pricing not published.

### [Krause Analytical](./krause-analytical.md) — Austin, TX

Finnrick's dominant partner — **3,836 / 6,813 tests (56.3%)** as of 2026-04-22. **Principal scientist / Laboratory Director: Mark Krause** — B.S. Chemistry Texas Lutheran College (1978); graduate studies UT Austin (1978–1980); >45 years in analytical testing since 1976; **no PhD listed**. Concurrent / predecessor entity: **Austin Analytical, LLC** (same individual operates two related entities; relevant for trust-attribution on Finnrick's largest contributor). Lab at 8711 Burnet Road, Austin, TX 78757; mailing 8127 Mesa Drive Suite B-206, Austin TX 78759. Disclosed instruments: GC (GC-MS, GC-FID, GC-TCD), LC (HPLC, LC-MS/MS), ion chromatography, FT-IR, UV-Vis, MS, OES, fluorescence — class-level only, no specific makes/models. ISO 17025 is **mentioned in running text** on /about with no accreditation number or scope — treat as C3 self-claim. Methodology answers live in an image-only scanned PDF at `finnrick.com/labs-contents/peptide_reproducibility_questionnaire_krause.pdf` — never OCR'd. This PDF is the single biggest known-unknown in the Finnrick partner docs.

### [BTLabs](./btlabs.md) — USA (city not disclosed)

Finnrick's #2 partner — **1,446 / 6,813 tests (21.2%)**. URL is **btlabtesting.com** (not btlabs.com or bt-labs.com — verified). Self-claims "25+ Years of Pharmaceutical Testing Expertise" but entity founding date not public. Analytical + microbiological testing across peptides, vitamins, nutraceuticals, beverages, cell culture media, raw ingredients. Integrated with Confident Cannabis login for cannabis-industry clients. No address, leadership, or instruments disclosed on the current "improving this website" state. Endotoxin is not explicitly listed.

### [Chromate](./chromate-labs.md) — USA (state not disclosed)

The peptide-community's main independent COA source — **660 / 6,813 Finnrick tests (9.7%)**. Accepts public samples directly via a Verify-portal workflow. Staff "trained in USA, Canada, Germany, and Singapore"; no individuals named. Two 2026 misidentifications (Feb cagrilintide-as-sema from Coastal Peptides; April tirzepatide-as-reta) reported and corrected via forum archives — illustrate the limits of UV-only peptide identification and a reason to treat single Chromate COAs as point estimates. MS confirmation on flagged samples per community reporting; not formally disclosed by Chromate.

### [TrustPointe Analytics](./trustpointe.md) — Michigan, USA

Smaller Finnrick partner — **315 / 6,813 tests (4.6%)**. West Michigan (area code 616). **Explicitly lists endotoxin testing** on its landing page — unusual among Finnrick partners and operationally interesting given Janoshik's endotoxin exclusion of HRT form factors. 3–5 business day turnaround with rush available. USP-aligned methods self-claimed; no accreditation scope document. Whether TrustPointe accepts oil-based HRT for endotoxin is **the decision-relevant unknown** — landing page does not specify.

### [Freedom Diagnostics](./freedom-diagnostics.md) — Franklin, TN

Smaller Finnrick partner — **213 / 6,813 tests (3.1%)**. Address 133 Holiday Ct Suite 106, Franklin, TN 37067. Self-describes as "high-precision peptide purity testing." Accepts public samples via self-serve account submission + COA lookup. No instrument disclosure, no leadership, no pricing public. Testimonial-based turnaround framing only ("unmatched," "faster than expected"). Standard "research use only" disclaimer.

## Community / mutual-aid labs

### [Trans Harm Reduction (THR)](./trans-harm-reduction.md) — Ireland / Scotland

The archetype donation-funded HRT testing outfit. Organiser: **Mouse El Baba**, County Dublin. Mutual-aid model; **~€300 per single vial cost-recovery**. Does NOT own instruments — commissions **GC-MS** at an unnamed EU commercial lab. 16 published result posts June 2022 – January 2026 (round-2 correction R2-M7 from earlier "18"); 2 of those feed testing.trans.diy. GoFundMe raised €6,750 of €6,800 for "a spectrometer" — instrument class not disclosed, acquisition not publicly confirmed. Note reconciliation (critique M15): testing.trans.diy /about says HPLC site-wide; THR's own reports explicitly say GC-MS — per-result truth for THR rows is GC-MS.

### [Artemis Analytical](./artemis-analytical.md) — USA (state not disclosed)

**2 tests** on testing.trans.diy (both 2026-04-21). Public website at **artemisanalytical.cc**. **Round-3 disclosure** retired the earlier "HPLC-UV only" framing: Artemis self-discloses **HPLC-UV + GC-MS** with **dual-volunteer cross-check on every run** (HPLC-UV for quantity, GC-MS for identity confirmation). Two-volunteer scale, ~1-week turnaround, **free to submitters / ~$60 per-run materials cost** funded by donations, sample-code anonymity, accepting samples Q2 2026. Public contact: `testing@artemisanalytical.cc` + Signal handle on /donations. Wayback Machine has zero snapshots for the domain — fresh-domain operation. Principals, address, accreditation still unknown. Disambiguate from unrelated `artemislabs.co.uk` (UK environmental) and `artemis-analytical.com` (Manchester MS spinout) — different entities.

## Public-benefit drug-checking comparators (NOT HRT labs — included for ecosystem context)

### [WEDINOS](./wedinos.md) — Cardiff, Wales, UK

The UK reference example of government-funded public-benefit drug checking. Operated by **Public Health Wales**; free postal service for recreational drugs and unsanctioned prescription medicines. Analytical stack historically **FTIR / GC-MS / HPLC / NMR** (make/models not surfaced on current site; 2026-04-23 site migration in progress). Publishes the **PHILTRE** bulletin quarterly / annually (issues 1–17+ archived). Canonical URL now `wedinos.wales`; `wedinos.org` 301-redirects. Not a testing option for HRT — remit is recreational-drug harm reduction.

### [DrugsData (Erowid Center)](./drugsdata-erowid.md) — USA (Erowid in Grass Valley, CA; DDL lab address not public)

The US civil-society drug-checking archive, continuously operating since **July 2001** (as EcstasyData; renamed DrugsData 2019). Operated by Erowid Center; GC-MS via **Drug Detection Labs (DDL)**. $100 for tablet/powder/blotter, $150 for pharmaceuticals/supplements. **20,195 public sample entries** as of 2026-04-23. **Paused for new submissions since April 2024**, no restoration date announced. Fully public per-sample database including photos and reagent results. The gold-standard transparency model for harm-reduction testing — testing.trans.diy is a proto-version of the same approach for HRT.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Janoshik | Prague, CZ | Yes worldwide | Yes | **No** | Identity/potency yes; endotoxin **not for oils/powders/tablets/capsules** | Yes but restricted |
| MZ Biolabs | Tucson, AZ | Research/medical | No | Not stated | Peptide-focused | Not advertised |
| Krause | Austin, TX | Commercial-focused | No | Self-claimed, C3 | Broad scope | Not advertised |
| BTLabs | US (?) | Not disclosed | No | Not stated | Broad scope | Micro yes; endotoxin not explicit |
| Chromate | US (?) | **Yes** | No | Not stated | Peptides primarily | Not advertised |
| TrustPointe | MI, US | Commercial + ask | No | Self-claimed USP-aligned | Broad scope | **Yes (HRT acceptance unknown)** |
| Freedom Diagnostics | Franklin, TN | **Yes** | No | Not stated | Peptide purity | Not advertised |
| Trans Harm Reduction | IE/UK | Batch-only, no on-demand | ~€300 cost-recovery | N/A (aggregator) | **HRT-focused** | **No** |
| Artemis Analytical | US (?) | Likely yes (sample-code workflow per artemisanalytical.cc) | Free / donation-funded ($0 to submitter / ~$60 materials) | Not stated | HRT (**HPLC-UV + GC-MS**, dual-volunteer cross-check) | Not advertised |
| WEDINOS | Cardiff, UK | Yes (free) | Free | Not stated | **No** (recreational only) | N/A |
| DrugsData | US (paused) | Paused since Apr 2024 | $100 / $150 | Not stated | **No** | N/A |

The operationally load-bearing row of this table: **no commercial lab in this set offers mail-in endotoxin for oil-based HRT injectables**. Janoshik excludes them; TrustPointe lists endotoxin but has not publicly confirmed HRT-form-factor acceptance; Trans Harm Reduction does not run endotoxin at all. This is why `research/summary.md` Q2 lands on in-house gel-clot LAL + oil liquid-liquid extraction as the realistic path for DIY HRT endotoxin work.
