Case studies

  • Case study of a transgender woman with estrogen deficiency (aka ESR1 doesn’t works at all), we have 3?
  • transgender folks having lower free [testosterone] levels than expected v.s. the models given testosterone and SHBG alone due to NCAH
  • Lab summary of Estrogen levels of transgender men (does this already exist?)

Case studies

This is just a collection of “case studies”, useful for internal discussions while we figure this out and in the future if worth it we could make proper case studies that are publishable.

AMAB 21-OHD gender dysphoria (copulatory role mismatch)

2 cases of pre-hrt

  • Jarrow bcomplex + zinc reduced role copulatory mismatch (not sure, maybe they are bi, they are figuring it out)
  • Jarrow bcomplex + zinc reduced copulatory role mismatch (is currently identifying as nonbinary)

AMAB ? non-binary

  • Zinc, magnesium, bcomplex resolved gender dysphoria

AMAB 11 beta hydroxysteroid gender dysphoria

  • After starting hydrocortisone had resolution of bottom dysphoria and no longer wanted SRS

Non-binary “cross”

Defects on 3B-hydroxy steroid dehydrogenase or 17 alpha hydroxylase seem to result in people that are non-binary. Some sort of weird hodgepodge transness. Where they don't quite know what they are. A mixture of things. They are neither fully male or female, they end up partially transitioning or taking a little bit of hormones or something of the sort. They are not traditional binary trans people.
It happens so much that it reached the point where I was like okay, this seems to be the thing.

I only noticed it now because I have enough CAH panels on people that deficits in these were more obvious and the people that have these sort of deficits, they respond to cortef, but not quite as well as people who have major 21 or 11 beta defects. Who tend to be more traditionally trans
